Shares = min( ⌊Equity × 1% / (Entry − Stop)⌋ , ⌊Equity × 25% / Entry⌋ )If price reaches the Buy Stop on Day D+1, the trade executes. Position size is strictly bounded so a drop to the 55-day low loses at most 1% of account equity.

Placed after the 2026-10-30 close. A buy stop fills only if the price reaches the 55-day breakout trigger.

No open positions (100% Cash). The account stays in cash until a resting buy-stop order is triggered by a 55-day high breakout.
Every decision — including orders that never triggered — is permanently recorded to eliminate survivorship bias.

No trades executed yet. Buying requires a confirmed break above the 55-day high; staying in 100% cash during consolidation is the rule working as designed.

Direct answers to common questions about the CB55 paper-trading experiment, rules, and metrics.
CB55 is a systematic trend-following breakout strategy that buys when a stock breaks above its 55-trading-day high (plus a price buffer) and exits when price falls below its 55-trading-day low (minus a buffer). It aims to capture major multi-week trends while staying in cash during sideways or declining markets.
In the CB55 system, orders are only placed when a stock closes within 3% of its 55-day high, and a trade only fills on Day D+1 if the stock actually breaks above that 55-day high+buffer. If stocks pull back instead of breaking out, the buy-stop orders expire harmlessly and the account preserves 100% of its cash.
For every candidate trade, risk per share is defined as `BuyStop − StopLoss` (where StopLoss is the 55-day low minus buffer). The maximum dollar loss allowed per position is `1% × Account Equity`. Therefore, `Shares = floor((Equity × 0.01) / (BuyStop − StopLoss))`, further capped so total position cost never exceeds `25% × Account Equity`.
Evaluating signals after the daily close (Day D) and placing resting Buy Stop orders for the next session (Day D+1) eliminates intraday look-ahead bias and ensures the daily audit log is 100% reproducible from end-of-day OHLC bars.
Three explicit differences are documented: (1) this experiment caps any single position cost at 25% of equity (from Mark Boucher's Hedge Fund Edge), whereas the class uses pure 1% risk sizing without a cost cap; (2) candidates are prioritized by Bull/Pennant trend and lowest percent risk; (3) pyramid add-ons (5-day condition), trailing 55-day low stop ratchets, and the PEG > 2 filter are excluded from this frozen baseline.
The tracker runs two isolated accounts: English (`?lang=en`) displays the US stock account in USD with green for gains and red for losses; Traditional Chinese (`?lang=zh`) displays the Taiwan stock account in TWD with Taiwan's market convention of red for gains and green for losses.
